Dr. Haizhen Yang

Acupuncturist

DACM, MAOM, L.Ac, Dipl. OM (NCCAOM)

Dr. Yang holds a Doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts, a Master’s of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a Master's of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Rowan University School of Biomedical Science. She is certified in acupuncture and oriental herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 2010. She is licensed in NY and NJ currently. Her passion for holistic healing has led her on a lifelong learning journey. She strongly believes the best practice of healthcare is the integration of the conventional medicine with alternative healing modalities in conjunction of healthier lifestyle. So she devotes most of her time in studying and expanding her knowledge in both alternative healing modalities and conventional medicine/biomedical science.

Since her graduation from NYCTCM, her clinical applications are mainly influenced by these doctors' teachings: Dr. Wei Jie Young D.OM, Dr. Kamto Lee DOM in Portland Oregon (a QiGong master who is specialized in both herbal medicine and body work), Dr. Jeffrey Yuen DOM (Daoist priest), Dr. Liang Chuan Lin in Taiwan (specialized in structural reduction therapy), and Dr.Song Qing Fu in Japan (specialized in Nan Jing Pulse balancing).

Having a strong understanding of human body from both perspectives of biomedical science and alternative medicine (Chinese Medicine), allows her to provide integrative and holistic care to her patients.

Her treatments often integrate structural reduction therapy to correct anatomical structural off-alignments, acupuncture by balancing pulses, herbal remedies, vibrational sound therapy,  nutritional supplements, and various exercises which are tailored to individuals' needs and your unique body constitution. Her passion is to look for the best care possible for each individual and strongly believe there is no incurable diseases but yet to discover the cure. She is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Prior to the pandemic (June 2020), she used to work at Virtua Wellness Center (part of the Virtua Healthcare System in New Jersey), and taught in New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in addition to her private practice.

Her philosophy in the achievement and maintenance of health is to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit. Through a holistic and personalized approach driven by each individual's pulse diagnosis, she prioritizes treatments based on the urgent needs of your body at the moment and your body constitution.

She had many years of training in pulse diagnosis, which gives her insight of your conditions and paves a good foundation for an efficacy treatment plan. Her goal is to help you regain an overall well-beings including mind, body and spirit. She firmly believes that the best route to effective treatments is compassion and genuine interest in each person's well being, on the part of the practitioner, and the trust and faith gained in return. She would love to support you in this healing journey to regain your overall well-being.

She has been trained by a well known Taiwanese orthopaedist Dr. Liang Chuang Lin 林兩傳 who strongly believes our skin is like a jumpsuit of our body, our musculoskeletal structure and organs are competing for the skin/membranes. To correct skeletal joint alignment, skin/membranes have to be balanced first, then restore the balance of muscle and soft tissues. Dr. Yang has hands on training on structural reduction therapy (SRT) by Dr. Lin periodically since 2015. This therapy could be done with manual body work, acupuncture or combination of both. In the healing sessions, she tends to correct structural alignment first, then restore the internal balance via pulse balancing acupuncture treatments.  If there is PTSD or any sort of emotions involved with the condition, she combines sound vibrational therapy with the acupuncture treatment. So her healing session is very dynamic, and each visit could be different depending on your body at the time of the appointment. She also has her gentle approach with children and people who are fearful of needles.  Please contact her if you are determined to make a positive change in your life and take ownership of your physical and mental health.
